I will be the first to admit that my word for this class was persistence. This course challenged me to get out of my comfort zone and dig deep into the writing world that have all so often avoided. I feel like I am not a good writer so this course definitely helped me to learn about APA style, research, literature review, and again persistence. I spent many hours "digging" to find just the right resources and writing and editing to get things just right.
This is by far one of the hardest courses I have had to take. The text was very difficult and analytical. There were many times that I had to reread to understand what was being explained. I am good at math but the statistical part is sometimes difficult to grasp.
The topic of my research was STEM and female interest. The literature review opened my eyes to the fact that this field is drastically growing while female interest is drastically declining. I found that initiatives have been state through the Whitehouse and Girl Scouts to try and address the decline of females in STEM fields.
