Where do I begin to expound on all that I have learned this semester? The textbook and tools that it taught have been tools I have wanted to learn for a while. I am realizing that maybe this program is just what I needed to push me into learning them. I walk away from this class with much needed technology knowledge for teaching my students and fellow teachers. I have learned tools my students can use for collaboration outside of the classroom. This is an area I have struggled with. I can now teach my students the tools necessary to be 21st century learners.
Wow, what a plethora of web 2.0 tools available for collaborating with other teachers. This class has taught me that I have been operating in a small box and I need to open it to the amazing possibilities that the technology world and other teachers of technology have to offer. I have found that learned after this class and program I have to keep looking, keep practicing, and keep "playing" with technology so that I can stay current and relevant.
Our textbook teaches about blogs, wikis, podcasts, and other tools. I like how Will Richardson says to be selfish about the use of the tools before teaching the students. I am a firm believer in this. I want to blog and do wiki's with my classes. This will come in time. For now I am learning how to operate these awesome tools so I can teach my students.
This has been a great learning experience I look forward to adding web 2.0 tools to many toolboxes to come.
